Herb Doctor

The herb doctor's cures had been passed down through the generations from his ancestral homeland in Africa and had been adapted to utilize the natural materials available in America. To become an herb doctor required a long apprenticeship, and often the calling passed from generation to generation within the same family. Some of the herbs used were naturally therapeutic and others worked on a more psychological level--patients believed that they would be cured and so they were. Either way, they brought positive results.
