A Modern Hospital
A document written circa 1900 describing the hospital facilities:
As a matter of fact, the Hospital and Training School for nurses is a modern Hospital, without the distressing
appearance of woe. It is a comfortable home for the nurses, where the strictest rules and most ladylike deportment
is requisite and where a close patient study is required, so that each pupil will be competent, careful and scientific
in the treatment of cases. Its large, spacious, neatly kept rooms, offer cheer and comfort to the sick. Its unique
treatment rooms constantly charged with ozone and filled with many curious appliances, with large piazzas, by means
of which, patients not able to exercise, receive the benefit of such as will stimulate and strengthen. It has its
own ambulance, modern and up to date, as are its offices and other parts which makes it inviting and pleasant.
