Mullein
Mullein has narcotic properties without being poisonous or addictive. Mullein can be found all throughout South
and North Carolina. Mullein contains vitamins A, D, and B-complex, and is also high in iron, potassium, magnesium,
and sulphur.
The flower and leaves of the mullein are used for a variety of ailments . To combat colds, mullein leaves are boiled
alone, or with either pine needles or life everlasting to make tea. This tea is also used for fevers. An infusion
made of mullein leaf is used for soaking sprains and swollen, painful feet. Mullein flowers can be crushed and
applied topically as a remedy for warts. Mullein is a pain killer and induces sleep.
