For the third consecutive year, students at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio, studied the effects
of the Great Migration on African American culture. With the help of a grant from the National Endowment for the
Humanities, we, the students of this year's seminar, conducted interviews and archival research on-site in Birmingham,
Alabama and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This site contains the results of our study. We chose to format our project
like a newspaper because of the integral part that the Pittsburgh Courier played in the Great Migration. |
